Tourism/Hotel news: International Multicultural Summit and Trade Show

InterContinental Hotels Group, the world’s largest and most global hotel company, announces Brown Kessler, vice president, Americas Franchise Sales, IHG, will be a featured presenter in two workshops during the 9th Annual International Multicultural Tourism/Hotel Ownership Summit & Trade Show to be held July 20-23, 2005, at the Royal Palm Crowne Plaza Resort, Miami, Fl. This annual forum, attended by African American entrepreneurs, financial experts and top-level hospitality industry executives, explores ownership and franchise opportunities, shares minority travel trends and looks at diversity issues affecting the industry.

Kessler will participate in the “How to Select the Right Brand for Your Market?” workshop. As one of the heads of franchise sales for IHG whose well-known brands include InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts and Holiday Inn, he will share his years of experience in advising franchisees on which hotel to purchase based on their market and business needs.

Kessler will also participate in the “Lodging Development Incentive” workshop where he will talk about incentive programs available for minority franchise applicants. During this panel, he will discuss IHG’s Minority Incentive Development Program for African Americans, Hispanics and Native Americans, which offers not only discounted application and operational fees but also a complimentary year of mentoring and training.
