Hip Hotels: Appealing to the Younger Guests

In August this year, we published an article on an hotel which had created the first Batman themed hotel room in the world. In an increasing push to turn the hotel room into a second home for its travellers, there have been luxury beds, showers and now, the little travellers are given five star treatments to relax and aid sleep.

Rocco Forte’s The Balmoral, Edinburgh’s landmark hotel, has launched a Five-star Kids’ programme this week in a bid to woo younger guests.

The Balmoral already attracts a high proportion of children, as increasing numbers of families travel with their kids for both leisure and business purposes. The award-winning Balmoral is renowned for its outstanding customer care and the Five-star Kids’ programme is designed to ensure that children enjoy every aspect of their own “Balmoral Experience”.

Highlights of the programme include:
• Bath time – a wide range of “Junior” accessories, including Balmoral-branded ducks, bubble bath and pampering products
• Teddy turn-down – children can snooze peacefully with their “Balmoral Teddy”, which is placed on their pillow during the evening turn-down service
• Relaxation – customised children’s robes and slippers, perfect for curling-up and watching the wide choice of kids’ movies and programmes on offer
• Children’s VIP Amenities – each child receives a gift in their room on arrival. Seasonal highlights include a special visit from Father Christmas on Christmas Morning and a visit from the Easter Bunny on Easter Sunday
• Leisure – The Balmoral Spa features a 15-metre swimming pool, while a multitude of exciting attractions and activities are located minutes from The Balmoral’s front door

• Food and Drink – a Children’s Room Service Menu with a range of delicious treats including char grilled chicken fingers and Big Balmoral’s banana split, all beautifully presented on children’s crockery, accompanied by a Cinderella Cocktail. Hadrian’s Brasserie also offers its own Children’s Menu created by The Balmoral’s Michelin-starred Chef Jeff Bland.

Debbie Taylor, General Manager at The Balmoral, commented: “We welcome many children to The Balmoral and it is important that they feel as comfortable and relaxed as their parents, for the ultimate family experience. Our Five-star Kids are also our next generation of customers, and we enjoy providing a highly-personalised and tailored approach to our most treasured little guests.”
