Grohe announces the introduction of new thermostats “F1”, a new line of designer fittings and a diverse range of showers and shower systems; from the “Tempesta” handshower to the new “Rainshower” system with its innovative “Shower Pipe” design, from two new “Aquatower” shower systems to the new showers complementing the “F1” range.

Grohe focuses on the safe, reliable and simple control of water volume and water temperature, designed to ensure the highest levels of comfort and safety. The latest generation of “Grohtherm” thermostats incorporate a compact cartridge which responds to pressure fluctuations twice as fast as its predecessor.
The updated “Grohtherm 1000”, “Grohtherm 2000” and “Grohtherm 3000” thermostats are now fitted with a fixed temperature dial which is no longer part of the rotating knob but rather sits on the body of the fitting where it always remains clearly visible even while the knob is being rotated.
The “Grohtherm 2000” and “Grohtherm 3000” dials offer further enhanced legibility due to the improved contrast resulting from the non-reflective background. These models also offer a unique protection against scalding; Grohe’s “Cool Touch” design prevents the temperature on any given point of the surface of the thermostat from rising more than 1 degree centigrade above the selected water temperature.
In line with the latest trend towards a new kind of clarity, the new series of fittings from Grohe focuses on the cylinder as the only element of design. The rectangular arrangement of the body, spout and lever underlines an emotional functionality which leads the fitting back to its origin the straight lines of the minimalistic water dispenser deliberately lack traditional decorative elements that would only distract from the pure function.
The generously dimensioned nozzle head makes “Tempesta” an effective wellness product offering excellent value for money. Measuring 100 mm in diameter, the head is larger than usually seen on handshowers of this type. The shower head also features an innovative silicon ring to minimise damage to bathtubs and shower trays in case the handshower is accidentally dropped.
“Rainshower” systems are becoming ever more popular and Grohe caters to this growing market with its unique “Shower Pipe” solution. Suitable both for retrofitting in existing bathrooms and for new installations, these systems combine a large-diameter overhead rainshower with a unique “Cool Touch” shower pipe which can simply be installed on the wall. The water is fed through a “pipe inside the pipe”, meaning that the exterior of the pipe remains cool to the touch.
The judges at iF Hannover were suitably impressed by the purist design of the “Rainshower” systems and singled out the new products for the “iF product design award 2005”.
