On the 2nd December, Travelodge opened eight new Hotels throughout the country which became a UK record for Travelodge. The Travelodge hotels include: Manchester Airport, London City Airport, Bury, Norwich City Centre, Nottingham City Centre, Pembroke Dock, Aberdeen Airport and St Austell which results in a total investment of £29.5 million, 752 rooms and a creation of 245 jobs.

The Manchester Airport Travelodge was officially opened by Jim Bethell, MD, Manchester Airport Developments and boasts 201-bedrooms. This represents an £8 million investment and has created 65 new jobs within the region. It is the second largest Travelodge hotel outside of London and is situated at the airport.
The Aberdeen Airport Travelodge is a converted 40 bedroom Premier Travel Inn which represents a £2 million investment and has created 20 jobs within the Burnside Drive area.
Santa officially opened the Nottingham City Travelodge, with some help from Nottingham Lord Mayor, Sherwood the Bear (Nottingham Forest football team mascot) and Holy Cross Catholic Primary School. Travelodge has invested £4 million in converting the redundant BT building at 63 Maid Marion Way into a 114-bedroom hotel. The new city centre hotel has created 40 new jobs within the area and is the fourth Travelodge hotel within Nottingham.
The £2 million Pembroke Dock Travelodge has 51-bedrooms and has created 15 new jobs within the area. It is located at Pier Road, West Llanion Industrial Estate. The hotel was developed using a new construction method called Modular Construction, where the bedrooms were created in a factory in Newport. The bedrooms were then delivered to site and lowered in through the roof. Local slate was also used to roof the hotel. This method dramatically reduced production costs and development time from 28 weeks to just 18 weeks.
The opening of the St Austell Travelodge has created 20 new jobs within the area at a cost of £2.5 million. There are 67-bedrooms in this hotel and is located at Pentewan Road, St Austell.
Room rates at these Travelodge’s will start from £26 per night. You only pay for the room and not for the number of guests staying. There is a choice of rooms, which includes family, double and disabled. Each room offers a comfortable setting with en-suite bathroom, luxury king-size bed, colour TV which offers pay on demand movies, telephone and Internet services and free tea and coffee making facilities.
