Hotels: Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa

After one year of planning and development work, Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa is making good process for its re-opening in October 2006. With nine months to go, the redevelopment programme is now making its second phase.

To date, all the main structural works including mechanical and electrical have been completed. Work is now concentrated on the interior of the guestrooms and suites of the Garden Wing and Rasa Wing where walls and partitions were removed to enlarge the floor space. Particularly benefiting from this exercise are the Rasa Premier Rooms with an average floor space of 62 sq metres.

The restrooms, public areas and meeting rooms are also in the process of receiving major upgrading works further emphasise the resort as a totally new product.

The interior structural work for the Feringgi Grill and Bar has just been completed and the Spice Market Café, Lobby Lounge and Club Lounge are all taking shape.

In the meantime, work has also begun in earnest on CHI, the Spa at Shangri-La. Widely seen as the most prominent feature of the redevelopment programme, CHI entails the construction of an entire spa village, built around century-old rain trees and surrounded by lush gardens.

The VHI spa Village will be a veritable sanctuary for those seeking serenity as well as pampering treats for the senses. It will come complete with private villas, suites, a Yoga and Meditation Studio. Each villa will house spacious relaxation areas, private garden, treatment room, changing room and outdoor rain shower facility.

Other developments include the largest Heath Club on Batu Feringgi Beach with facilities such as a reception lounge, state-of-the-art gymnasium, changing rooms, locker and shower rooms, Jacuzzi (hydro tub), sauna and steam rooms.
