When practical, flexible luminaires were required to create an inviting ambience in a hotel bedroom whilst providing efficient task lighting, the designers worked alongside Chelsom to create the ideal solution.
This highly contemporary wall bracket, incorporates a polished chrome body with a flexi-tube arm, directional handle and cast metal open lampholder cover featuring a spotlight lamp. Designed to offer versatile workspace illumination of the desk area, the wall light also provides soft illumination of the room through the shaded incandescent lamp, which is wired on a separate circuit.
To enable the wiring to be encased within the decorative conduit running around the room at desk height, a bespoke chrome tubular channel was attached vertically to the base of the wall bracket.
This bespoke wall bracket is now part of the standard bedroom design scheme for the Ramada Hotel at Glasgow Airport, which included 108 bedrooms, 4 conference rooms, 6 syndicate rooms, corridors and an open plan public area with reception, bar, lounge and restaurant.
Throughout the scheme lighting was an important part of the design concept and innovative uses of a variety of light sources were a crucial tool in creating the finished product.
