Curtis’ fourth project for the IHG group has proved a complete success, as Pamela Scott, Director of EDC Hotels Ltd explains: “Curtis furniture provided the Holiday Inn Aberdeen West with furniture of the highest quality and finish creating a touch of class in every bedroom. Their highly skilled craftsmen and carpenters brought the designs to life using the finest quality materials and highest standards of workmanship."

Designer and client opted for an innovative combination of contrasting oak veneers. The imposing natural oak surround helps the fantastic details of the hand-veneered inside panel stand out, and the wenge finish completed in Curtis’ own French polishing department is of the highest and most durable quality.

As the feature of the new rooms, the headboards with atmospheric red downlighters provide the rooms with a sensual, cosy feel.

Curtis specialise in the design and manufacturing of contract bedroom furniture, and were able to produce heavyduty, impressive pieces which also accommodated for headboard light fittings. Metal runners and contract hinges were also used to give the pieces excellent durability in a hotel environment.

The installation up in Aberdeen was handled by Curtis’ own fitters, which ensured constant liaison with the production team in Leeds.

Curtis also offers six standard ranges, suitable for contemporary or traditional settings. From their factory in Leeds, Curtis can also manufacture any bespoke piece in a wide variety of wood finishes, to clients’ specifications.
