Forbes Furniture (part of the Snap-Drape Group) is celebrating an order from one of the top ten island paradises in the world. Located in the central Dalmatian archipelago, the little island of Hvar (67.5km x 10.5km) is known for fishing and for farming olives, rosemary, lavender and vines. The population of 11,549 has seen relatively little development in its Croatian Adriatic homeland. There is no airport, so the island can be reached only by boat.

Now, though, the Orco Group of hotels, based in the Czech Republic, is about to open its new-build conference centre - the first on Hvar. To furnish it, Forbes has been asked to supply its popular banqueting tables, stages, cocktail tables and lecterns, after the specifier directed Orco to Forbes' website. Forbes, which supplies hotels and conference centres all over Europe, hopes that it might be a gateway to Orco's hotels throughout the former eastern block of countries, including the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and Russia.
In the meantime, Forbes' Chief Executive Chris Graville is packing his suitcase for the kind of business trip of which dreams are made. This being the first contract with Orco, he is required to be on site when the goods are delivered. It's a tough job...
