Puigcerdà is the capital of La Cerdanya region, in the northern part of Catalunya, protected by the Pyrenees Mountains. The main cities of Barcelona and Toulouse lie only about 150km away to the south and to the north, respectively. Puigcerdà is an enchanting place to visit at any time of the year. The visitor may enjoy a wide range of cultural and sports activities, such as ski, golf, trekking, biking, riding, ice skating, 4x4, etc. Also noteworthy is discovering the Gothic, Modernist and Romanesque churches and villas of the area.
With the opening of this hotel, Hospes Hotels & Moments is consolidating the ongoing expansion process both in Spain and abroad, a process confirmed by seven properties in operation, apart from the recently opened Hospes Villa Paulita: Hospes Amérigo, in Alicante; Hospes Palacio de los Patos, in Granada; Hospes Maricel, in Mallorca; Hospes las Casas del Rey de Baeza, in Seville; Hospes Palau de la Mar, in Valencia; Hospes Palacio del Bailío, in Cordoba; and Hospes Lancaster, in Paris.
Another hotel is scheduled to open in 2007, the Hospes Madrid. This will be followed in 2008 and 2009 with new hotels in Malaga, Pamplona, Jerez de la Frontera, and Murcia. Hospes plans to reach a portfolio of 30 properties in Europe over the next ten years.
