Hotel Design: A Modern Haven At The Ramada Jarvis, Maidstone

Curtis Furniture recently supplied bedroom case goods to the newly refurbished Ramada JarvisHotel, Maidstone. The project involved an upgrading of all the hotel’s bedrooms. Sophie Robinson, JWA Architects comments “Curtis has worked closely with us to translate our case good design into a successful and high quality product which also represents excellent value for money. It keenly responded to a tight and extensive Ramada bedroom refurbishment programme for Jarvis.’’

Designer and client specified a combination of oak stained to wenge wood finished with an aluminium inlay for the headboard and cantilevered bedside shelves. These were hand veneered to a high quality and durable stained finish in Curtis’ own French polishing department.

Curtis used metal runners and contract hinges to give the pieces the necessary level of durability demanded by the hotel environment. The installation in Maidstone was handled by Curtis’ own fitters, which ensured constant liaison with the company’s Leeds-based production team. As well as its six standard ranges, Curtis is also able to manufacture bespoke pieces in a wide variety of wood finishes, to clients’ own specifications.
