In an era when water and energy saving is uppermost in the nation’s minds, the new Mira ECO handset is top of the class.
The innovative new handset reduces the amount of water normally used during showering by up to 75%* and offers huge savings in the energy used to heat the water.
The adjustable ECO handset offers three aerating spray modes that reduce water consumption whilst still giving a great performance. The ‘ecofficient™’ technology uses a Venturi principle ¬– introducing air without a pump. Mixing air with the water spray creates larger droplets filled with air bubbles. The droplets explode on impact and produce similar coverage to conventional, finer sprays giving the impression of increased volume of water and a refreshing shower.
Commenting on the new handset, Kohler Mira Channel Manager, Gill Few, says: “Water conservation is increasingly more focused, with more awareness surrounding its importance in today’s world.
“A paper published in September 2006 by the Institute for Public Policy Research highlighted methods for promoting greater water saving methods. It also introduced the Water Efficiency Commitment which prompts companies to set their own water eco targets.
Simply replacing an existing shower head with the Eco handset can deliver instant water savings. Alternatively a complete fittings kit, available early in 2008, will enable the handset to be fitted alongside most mixer shower valves.
“This puts increased pressure and responsibility on companies to promote water efficiency and the new ECO handset fulfils and exceeds this commitment with its huge savings on water use,” adds Gill.
* The 75% water savings is based on a flow rate of 0.5 bar, and compared to the current Mira Logic handset.
