Hyde Park Gate Completes Major Refurbishment

Set within three imposing Victorian houses, Hyde Park Gate, which has an enviable location overlooking Kensington Gardens, has just completed a multi-million pound refurbishment.

The renowned interior designer Elizabeth Chetwynd-Talbot was responsible for the design of the interiors, and was chosen as she specialises in working with private country houses and country house hotels including Hartwell House in Aylesbury.

Hyde Park Gate was built in 1864 and many of the original features have been retained over the years. In the new design, the décor is sympathetic to the original building, with the materials, colour schemes and furniture emphasising and enhancing the beautiful architecture of the rooms. It also showcases the seven-metre high sculptured ceilings, which are a classic feature of many of the apartments.

The apartments at Hyde Park Gate are the most prestigious in the Capital and in hotel terms equate with London’s grandest five-star establishments. The new designs encompass this splendour and are elegant and classic, with a focus on creating timeless, traditional English surroundings. A range of suppliers were used to create the look including Directory Company Zoffany.

While the design is classic and traditionally English, each apartment boasts state-of-the-art lifestyle technology including flat screen TVs, the latest home entertainment equipment, digital telephones, and wireless broadband. In addition to features such as heated bathroom mirrors and Carrera Marble bathrooms, the whole building benefits from the installation of a comfort cooling system.

The calibre of client attracted to Hyde Park Gate makes security a key element. The video entry phone security was upgraded during the refurbishment, and CCTV and panic alarms were installed in every apartment.

General Manager, Malcolm Broadbent comments, “The apartments at Hyde Park Gate offer the very highest standards in accommodation. Our refurbishment ensures that Hyde Park Gate maintains its leading position and will continue to provide the very best in luxurious design, technology and top level security for years to come. It is also reflective of the Cheval Group’s policy of continual investment to ensure standards are always at the highest possible level for our clients.”

Hyde Park Gate is part of the Cheval Group of Serviced Apartments, a collection of six luxurious properties with a portfolio of 285 apartments throughout London.
