Fabric Design: New from Sanderson for 2008 pt2

Honfleur Wallpapers

The Honfleur wallpaper collection uses traditional Victorian surface printing techniques to create the distinctive ‘squeezed edge’ look on its delicate, autumnal designs. Intended to be used on four walls rather than one, these designs are perfect for use in a complete decorating scheme. Soft harmonious colours heightened with striking metallic highlights beautifully complement the Country Linens fabric collection.

Honfleur, depicting a leafy trellis, simplified through the use of a single colour surface print, is a beautiful mix of traditional and contemporary design. The only coordinating design in the collection, ‘Elouise’, uses a 14 colour print to show a flamboyant pattern of garden flowers entwined in an elegant trail. ‘Anna Maria’ and ‘Amelie’ are taken from 18th century designs, achieving a fine brocade background on which delicate floral sprays and sprigs take effect. ‘Bethany’, a stripe design and ‘Jessica’, which shows the floral sprig as a single element, are both matching papers to Amelie. ‘Cornucopia’, the most contemporary design, has been developed from a 19th century cretonne and features elaborate, scrolling flowers and leaves translated as a pattern of dotted lines.

Dante, Regio, Lusso

Three new collections of inexpensive and versatile plains and semi-plains in a wide range of colourways are launching in January 2008. ‘Dante’ is an ottoman plain with a beautiful drape and a glowing, textural quality. The design is suitable for upholstery, as is ‘Regio’, a new velvet quality woven to give extremely good wear. ‘Lusso’ is both glamorous and practical, woven in natural yarns and glazed to a polished finish.
