Brits Take Top Spot at Taba Heights

Nearly one in three tourists visiting resort are from the UK

Taba Heights, Egypt’s most naturally luxurious resort, has confirmed its ever-increasing popularity with UK guests.

New figures just released indicate that Taba Heights is a firm favourite with travelling Brits, with around one in three room nights (38%) being filled by guests from the UK. This trend is significant since the French account for the second highest number of room nights, representing just 12% of the total.

In terms of actual numbers, the UK also retains top spot, with 28% of arrivals being British. Again, this is a stretch ahead of neighbouring Israel in second place, which provides 11% of arrivals ahead of France with 9%.

Overall, the resort is also delighted to report a 19% increase on occupancy figures for 2007 when compared to the previous year. Occupancy across all five hotels was higher than in 2006, to give the highest overall occupancy the resort has experienced since its beginnings in 2000.

The most popular months to visit were August, October and November, demonstrating the resort’s continuing popularity as a year round destination.
