Scheduled to open in November 2008, the Kempinski Hotel Cher Fah Khao Lak in Thailand will feature a 300-room five star luxury hotel set in contemporary landscaped tropical gardens and lagoons on grounds of 80,000 m2. The resort will have an exclusive white sandy beach as well as a Tropical Spa with 15 luxuriously appointed treatment villas. Seven restaurants and bars will leave no culinary wish unfulfilled. A Thai and a Japanese restaurant will be set upon the impressive 12,000 m2 outdoor pool, which runs throughout the property. Large meeting and function rooms will be ideal for everything from celebrating a wedding to holding a successful business meeting, all in an idyllic setting by Andaman Sea. John Lightbody of Abacus Design is designing the resort’s interiors around a feeling of space, natural light and local materials throughout.
At the heart of Jakarta, Kempinski is set to manage the Hotel Indonesia Kempinski - a revival of a landmark which will open in Summer 2008 as part of one of Asia’s largest shopping and entertainment complex. The hotel, originally the historic Hotel Indonesia, will be extensively remodeled before it reopens as a Kempinski hotel with 289 rooms and suites located in two buildings. Room sizes start at a spacious 50 m2 and the hotels interior design will be inspired by contemporary Indonesian art and style. In addition to a 60-storey office tower and a 59-storey residential tower, which will comprise 260 luxury Kempinski Residences, the complex will offer 5,500 m2 of exhibition and meeting space, the city’s largest ballroom plus a 3,000 m2 deluxe spa and fitness centre. The hotels 8 different restaurants are as colourful and vibrant as Jakarta city, the capital of Indonesia and the country’s key commercial centre.
Strategically located just across the Delhi city border, The Leela Kempinski Gurgaon, Delhi NCR has the unique feature of a kilometre-long luxury shopping mall directly at its doorstep. Part of an upscale mixed-use development, the contemporary designed façade has distinctive Indian touches and features. Over 1,115 m2 of convention space, 322 spacious guest rooms and suites, a business club, heated pool, fitness facilities, and spa will make this a preferred international meetings and conference destination. Top-end restaurants and bars, including an all-day dining and two specialty ones, which will offer classical Indian and Pan-Asian cuisine, will be the culinary highlights of the hotel. The property is set to open in the second half of the year.
The Leela Palace Kempinski Udaipur, opening in autumn 2008, with its breathtaking view of the Aravali Mountains, stands majestically on the banks of Lake Pichola, which all 80 rooms and five suites overlook. The palace evokes the grandeur and opulence of a bygone era with its open-air courtyard, lake-facing infinity pool, 900 m2 holistic spa focusing on Ayurvedic treatments, and several restaurants, one of which invites guests to enjoy al-fresco dining. A fully equipped business centre and conference facilities and amenities will cater to the meetings and corporate sector.
