Carton House Creates Relaxing Spa with Kohler

Carton House, one of Ireland’s finest and most luxurious hotel and spa resorts, has recently undergone an €80 million refurbishment (£63m). Murray O’Laorie Architects renovated the extravagant 18th century building with a lavish contemporary interior.

Carton House has been completely refurbished to create a luxurious and relaxing sanctuary. Kohler has worked with the Carton House team on the new spa to generate a peaceful atmosphere and make it the ultimate place to de-stress.

The spa at Carton House includes the Kohler Sok overflowing bath which gives visitors the opportunity to relax in style and indulge in the ultimate spa treatment. The Sok overflowing bath helps to relax and rejuvenate the mind and body with fine champagne-like bubbles and hydrotherapy and chromatherapy options. For extreme relaxation, enjoy the Sok overflowing bath by candlelight and drift away into an abyss as the bathwater changes through a soothing spectrum of colours.

To complement the ‘classic meets contemporary’ design at Carton House, the spa’s bathrooms have been fitted with the iconic rectangular Bateau vessels, by Kohler, which inject style and character into any washroom. The brassware, also by Kohler, is from the Stillness collection, with sweeping and curvaceous designs which add to the sensual and soothing atmosphere.

Carton House won the European Hotel Design Award for Conversion of an Existing Building to Hotel Use in 2007.
