Hotel construction continues to boom throughout the middle East. Park Hyatt recently announced their third new construction, this time in Dubai. Previous hotels announced are in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (opening late 2006), followed by Cairo (opening late 2006).
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation, together with Hyatt International, recently announced Hyatt International’s operation of Park Hyatt Dubai, a 238-room boutique hotel on the banks of Dubai Creek, within the Dubai Golf and Yacht Club.
The new property is scheduled to open in 2005.
'We are extremely honoured to be given the opportunity to operate and manage what will become Dubai's leading city centre luxury resort,' stated John Wallis, Senior Vice President – Marketing, 'Hyatt International is so grateful to have been a part of this wonderful city's vision for the last 23 years and we are very proud to be operating three of our brands here – Hyatt Regency Dubai, Grand Hyatt Dubai and now Park Hyatt Dubai.'
The architecture of Park Hyatt Dubai will draw on the rich heritage of Dubai and the region, seamlessly blending Moorish and Mediterranean influences, complementing the iconic Dubai Creek Golf Clubhouse, a building synonymous with Dubai's famous skyline.
Courtyards will unfold into lush gardens with views of the historic Creek. Outdoor dining and relaxation areas will be located just metres from the marina.
Each of the 238 guestrooms will be appointed in keeping with the Park Hyatt brand, meeting the latest demands of modern business and leisure travellers for items such as plasma television and high-speed Internet access.
Three restaurants and a bar will be located by the waterside, offering gourmet cuisine. Conference facilities include a ballroom to accommodate 500 guests, four meeting rooms and a Business Centre complete with outdoor function area.
Health and relaxation facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, a fully equipped gymnasium, steam room and Jacuzzi.
Park Hyatt Dubai will also have direct access to the world-famous Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club golf course, currently being constructed in conjunction with top professional, Thomas Bjorn, to world-class standards.
