New hotels abound in Berlin, and occupancy rates are low as a result. But tourism patterns are changing in Europe, with the Germans themselves spending more time touring their own country, and increasing numbers of western Europeans turning away from overcrowded beaches to explore the resurgent cultures of the central European cities to where travel had for so many years been difficult or impossible. This hotel is already benefiting from an influx of tourists from other parts of Europe to the east as well as the west as Berlin re-establishes itself as the capital at the crossroads of Europe.

Park Inns have ambitious plans to follow other hotels in the Rezidor SAS stable and expand eastwards as well as into the markets of Western Europe. With an established investment fund the group recently announced their first hotels in France and Scandinavia, and has stated its intentions to develop 50 hotels in towns and cities in Russia. The group is setting standards with this, its first hotel.
The standard of the finishes here is high, and the sophisticated simplicity of the design works very well at this level. If other hotels can measure up to these standard then the group will do well in this very competitive market place.
