Q Hotels have worked hard with their designers to create a strong design image for the Queens Hotel whilst keeping it true to its inheritance. Given that it is now on the edge of the centre, although right on top of the very busy rail station, the spend on design and refurbishment was essential to keep the hotel competitve with more modern buildings and larger chains entering the market in Leeds.

Too often hotels like this slide gradually into decay, or drop down-market as they fail to receive the investment that they need to remain competitive. This happens everywhere and the current boom in travel, despite the best efforts of politicians to tax us into staying at home, has generated enough profits for the hotel industry generally to start investing again after some lean years either side of 2000.

The staff are plainly proud of the end result of the investment, and the Hotel has a regained a strong sense of style and theatre. Colour, plenty of flair, and good design will all help to keep this landmark building viable into the next decade.
