Corridors are superbly handled and are also short, meaning that the walk from the lift lobby is also short. With glazing throughout the lobby space the whole floor is flooded with light, a feeling that is also present in the bedrooms which have large windows.
The quality of the case goods in the bedroom is high, and there are high design values throughout. The cool use of colour allows the tone of the wood to become a dominant factor, and as the material has been used generously the results are pleasing.

Occasional table in contrasting veneers (my guess is zebrawood or zebrano)

Good lighting as well as strong natural daylight also helps. The emphasis on natural materials continues with the use of glass and marble for surfaces, whilst the inspired use of mirrors throughout the public areas is repeated very effectively in the bedrooms.
The large work desk in the bedroom has a recessed box containing all the power connections a ‘road warrior’ needs. The chair is a step away from the usual office chair and the choice of a light coloured leather gives an almost domestic feel to an item that still has the gas lift adjustment so necessary for a working chair.
"design is confident and restrained, comfortable rather than minimal"
Using the timber colour has also been emphasised by the use of a table in zebrano to contrast with the work desk and other wood in the bedroom. This simple change adds enough visual interest to lift the whole room.
Throughout the use of colour is restrained and the materials and their textures are allowed to play the major decorative role. This gives the rooms a calm light feel. The design is confident and restrained, comfortable rather than minimal.
