There are larger rooms that have double showers as well as bath tubs, and the sheer variety of shape and size of the rooms makes for an interesting and varied offer for guests. The nearest to a set of standard rooms are in the annex across the beer garden, but all rooms are well designed and furnished if sometimes appearing overdressed. Nice touches include the tea making being in a tea'chest' in the cupboard.

Overall the owners have pulled off a difficult trick, keeping the pub feel, creating a good restaurant/bistro experience, both of which serve the local market well, whilst also creating the feel of a contemporary boutique hotel for the metropolitan sophisticates who want a weekend by the seaside without feeling cast out of civilisation. The £2million investment in the refurbishment has been very well spent and there is every sign that the owners have a rip-roaring success on their hands.
